Employment
In order to satisfy the teaching demand and offer an English exchange platform, SUST employs several foreign teachers every year. Below, the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange (OICE) provides basic employment information for foreign teachers.
Step 1: If foreign teachers are interested in applying to SUST, the OICE encourages potential teachers to e-mail them at oice@sust.edu.cn. In the e-mail, potential applicants should give a basic introduction and resume . Basic information includes photograph, nationality, family situation, languages spoken and his or her general interest in SUST.
Step 2: SUST will look over the teacher's materials and reply with answers to any questions and basic information about SUST and the teaching position. The information may include:
Accommodation
Teaching responsibilities
General contract information
Step 3: After both parties agree to act further, SUST will ask teachers to fill out an employment application form , which will be used to apply with the Chinese government, including:
Personal information including marital status and family situation
Education background
Language proficiency and skills
Employment record
Previous experience in China
Step 4: After the application process, SUST will prepare the necessary documents for teachers. This will take time and SUST will keep applicants informed about the progress. Documents include Authorized Workplace Notification and Foreign Experts Chinese Work Permit , which will allow teachers to obtain a Z-visa.
Step 5: When the teachers receive these documents, they are responsible for obtaining the work permit and visa from a Chinese consulate (or via a visa service) and arranging transportation to Xi'an .
During this process, SUST will sign a contract with the teacher. A medical examination is required, either in the teachers' current country of residence and/or in China .
