There are a variety of places SUST students can go to entertain themselves on- and off- campus.

On-Campus Activities

SUST offers many opportunities for students. SUST students can not only make full use of their spare time, but also promote themselves and enrich their daily life.

Qinyuan Square

Located in front of the Qinyuan Canteen, Qinyuan Square provides a large open area that allows for student activities near the campus entrance .

Once a while, SUST throws a “Crazy Weekend Party,” an event where students can enjoy themselves as they sing and dance with other SUST students.

Each year, SUST holds a cooking competition that gives students an opportunity to show their imaginative cooking skills.

Occasionally, vendors set up small stalls to sell many kinds of goods , such as electronic equipment (including earphones, computer mice and keyboards), clothes (including shoes and coats) and food (including biscuits and snacks).

In response to natural disasters and other tragedies, the SUST community often organizes donation events to support victims and their families. In the past, events have been held in response to the Sichuan earthquake in 2008 and the Qinghai Yushu earthquake in 2010.

SUST Clubs and Associations

SUST supports a wide variety of other student-led activities from writing and reading to singing and dancing to yoga and roller-balding and biking. There are also many training courses that instruct students in areas such s painting, drawing, and dancing.

Sports are an important part of the university life. Individual Colleges and the Student Union hold many competitions , which strengthen the friendship among SUST students. The Sun Bar, located on the third floor of the Qinyuan Building , provides a party atmosphere that includes singing, dancing, eating and drinking, and occasionally movie-watching.

Off-Campus Activities

Of course, there are other places for students to go around Xi'an . They can go downtown for shopping and karaoke or to Weiyang Lake Park for relaxing. Students can also go to the J ing Ji Kai Fa Qu District to check out books at the Xi'an Public Library. Students can also travel to nearby Xi'an tourist attractions .
