Undergraduate Program

With a history of 50 years, SUST is a comprehensive university and attracts approximately 4,500 undergraduate students from different cities within Shaanxi and other provinces, such as Shandong , Hunan and Liaoning .

Tuition

As a comprehensive university, SUST has relevant art and science majors. The university is also renowned for such degrees as paper-making and leather-making engineering. Visit the Academics for more details.

Paying for College

Fees

Tuition fees range from 3,000 RMB to 12,000 RMB (all prices refer to 2010 rates). Different majors have different tuition fees in accordance with their varied education plan and arrangement. For example, Art & Design majors will pay 9,000 RMB every year, while Law majors will pay 3,500 RMB

Book Budget

Students pay 750 RMB at the beginning of their first year. According to the teachers' bookings, fees will be added or given back to students after graduation.

Student Financial Aid

Each year the government gives financial support to students in need. This kind of grant is divided into three levels, 1,500 RMB, 2,500 RMB and 5,000 RMB.

Health Insurance

At the beginning of the first year, each student pays a one-time 160 RMB to insure themselves for their entire stay at SUST. This includes life and health insurance.

If any student has an operation, the insurance policy covers 60 percent of the cost and includes a stipend for medications.

Facilities

Accommodation

SUST has nine dormitory buildings for undergraduate students, and each building has a capacity of more than 2,500 students. Each dormitory room has necessary facilities such as the fan and water dispenser, and each building has washing machines and other basic facilities such as study rooms.

For the undergraduate students, the dormitories are divided into two categories:

6 students per room: 1,000 RMB per year
7 students per room: 900 RMB per year (Costs reflect 2010 rates)

Study Facilities

SUST provides complete facilities for studying.

The Library holds more than 1.3 million books and a variety of electronic resources
Laboratory Buildings: various scientific equipment is available for science majors, such as chemistry and engineering labs
Multimedia capabilities are available in most of SUST's 240 classrooms
